Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta… and Diya Aur Baati Hum in a celebratory mood

The two long-running shows of Star Plus, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Director’s Kut) and Diya Aur Baati Hum(Shashi Sumeet Productions) have gained stupendous success over the years. With their characters becoming household names, and their tracks being etched in the minds of audiences, they have achieved yet another milestone today.

Yes, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai creates history by completing 2000 episodes, while Diya Aur Baati Humcompletes the magnificent feat of completing 1300 episodes.

While Yeh Rishta’s simplicity and realistic story telling have won laurels over the years, the daring and awareness creating issues tackled in Diya Aur Baati Hum have kept the viewers glued to the show.

As the cast and crew associated with these two shows gear up to celebrate the day and go down the memory lane, we  wish both the shows many more reasons to celebrate and rejoice.

We contacted Karan Mehra, the lead face of Yeh Rishta to congratulate him and his team on the day. With excitement written all over his face, Karan exclaimed, “We have reached quite a lot of milestones, that we keep cutting cakes quite frequently (smiles). Having said this, this is a huge achievement, and all credit goes to the entire team starting from the channel, producer, people behind the camera for making this day possible. Above all, we are here only because of the constant devotion showered by audiences on our show. Their love has actually pushed us to go beyond the boundary of human ability to continue for so long a time with Yeh Rishta and create history. For sure, this show will be remembered for a long time to come.”

Neelu Waghela who is an integral part of Diya Aur Baati Hum said, “We are shooting seven days a week. So there is no time to celebrate the moment. But yes, our huge thanks to all our fans for showering so much of love on us. It has been five long years, and it is amazing to see that the bonding and chemistry is still so strong. The journey has been a great experience. Viewers have a lot of expectations from us, and we have our fingers crossed as we hope to do our level best to keep them entertained.”

We tried contacting Hina Khan of Yeh Rishta, Deepika Singh and Anas Rashid from Diya Aur Baati Hum but could not get through to them.
