MUMBAI: Charming actor Zain Imam’s million-dollar smile makes women go weak in the knees. Post his charismatic stint in Star Plus’ Naamkarann, Zain is set to entwine his emotions with those of TV watchers through his performance in &TV’s latest offering Laal Ishq.
The show comprises a series of passionate love stories with a supernatural twist. Zain will be paired opposite Mahhi Vij of Balika Vadhu fame for this particular episode.
In a quick chat at the recently held press conference of Laal Ishq, the dimpled lad spoke about the show, his upcoming projects, his television journey, and more….
Here are excerpts from the interview.
What is keeping you busy post Naamkarann?
As you all know, I will soon be seen in Laal Ishq. Along with that, I am transforming my look for my next reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Any phobia that you want to overcome in Khatron Ke Khiladi?
I don’t want to reveal my phobias right now, as I will be given the same kind of task in the show. Nevertheless, I am scared of heights.
How happy are with your journey in TV?
I am happy with the way my career is shaping up. I have become little selective about my projects. I really liked the concept of Laal Ishq, so I decided to go ahead with it.
Do you see yourself doing fantasy- or supernatural-based shows in future?
I find these kinds of shows weird and illogical, but you never know. However, I will never take up mythological and historical shows, as I cannot say those big dialogues that make no sense to me. I am also not fond of heavy costumes and jewellery.
Being an actor, is there a lot of pressure on you to look good all the time?
There is tremendous pressure, as people idolize you. They monitor and copy your dressing sense and the way you carry yourself. So you have to make sure that you speak well and look presentable all the time.
Any genre you would like to experiment with in the future?
Well, I would like to host a TV show. I think I will be entertaining audiences like Manish Paul does. He entertains viewers effortlessly and has great hosting skills.
Any other reality show that interests you?
I don’t like dance-based reality shows. I have also never thought about taking up Bigg Boss.
Which show has been close to your heart: Tashan-e-Ishq or Naamkarann?
Tashan-e-Ishq gave an edge to my career, and Naamkarann gave me popularity. So both shows are close to my heart.
Any Bollywood aspirations?
If given a good opportunity, then why not? Everybody wants to work with good directors and producers in Bollywood.
