Rakhi Vijan down with severe viral

Rakhi Vijan, the chirpy Sweety of the popular yesteryear show Hum Paanch, will appear in a never-done before role of a sari clad woman in & TV’s show, Gangaa (Sphere Origins). Well, Rakhi sees this as a huge scope to break the earlier image of her being known for her tomboy characters. And in the role Prabha Mami, a funny character with shades of grey, the actor will get to essay something she has never done before.

Well, the fact remains that Rakhi has been toiling really hard to play her part!! We stress on the word ‘toil’ here, as she has been under the weather for more than 20 days now.

A source from the set says, “Rakhi has been down with a severe viral for the past 20 days. However, high fever, cough and congestion do not stop her from posing before the camera and shooting her part with ease. This shows the amount of dedication that the actor has towards work.”

The latest we hear is that Rakhi has now managed to get her 2-3 days of leave, to take rest and get back with greater energy.

When contacted, a low-sounding Rakhi told us, “Yes, I have been sick for nearly 20 days now. I have had relapses after relapses, and my fever has not come down below 102 degree for a long time now. I am now resting, and will take another day or two to resume shoot. My doctor was really pissed off with me, and advised me to rest and push out the illness. I hope I recover soon, as I am very excited to be part of Gangaa.”

The ever-chirpy actress could not stop herself from talking about the character she will portray. “Oh, this is indeed a different kind of character for me. You will have to watch me in the show, and you will know that. It is tough to portray a sari clad lady with the wig on my head. All this is certainly not my cup of tea, but I am enjoying this change. The character is really interesting, is what I will say.”
